And I think that at least there is now, for sure, for sure now. So Turning Point USA was started in 2012 by Charlie Kirk when he was 18 years old. And I'll say the same thing I said in the Turning Point episode that we did like the deep dive. What were you doing at 18 years old? I mean, maybe this guy was way advanced and he was, you you run across some people like that. They're just.

I don't know, maybe they groomed him. I don't know, but they're all dead now. Foster-Freeze, Bill Montgomery, and Charlie Kirk. So I guess we'll never really know the answers to that, but Bill Montgomery died in 2020, Foster-Freeze in 2021, and Charlie Kirk in 2024. So whatever Turning Point USA was, it isn't anymore. Their mission was to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of

fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government. Boy, I'll tell you, if that's what they were doing, sounds great to me.

Fiscal responsibility, be that in your own personal dealings or as a government that you're living under. Free markets. Yeah, free markets. mean, do we have free markets? No. You will be taught the Adam Smith invisible hand in marketplaces when you get into economics classes, but that's a lie.

We've discussed that. There's an entire chapter on the invisible middle finger of marketplaces in the Control Demolition book that I specifically wrote about that. this idea of, know, will go to Turning Point USA to learn about free markets, theoretically maybe you do, but we don't live in a world with free markets. they're also proposing limited government. How limited are we talking here?

Personally, I would take that to an extreme. So anyway, when I see this organization and they talk about, anyway, your mission statement can be as ambitious as you want it to be. Reality will dictate that, whether you actually accomplish it or not.

Actually, the people who are partnered with you and financially backing you will determine whether or not you're going to actually reach this or not. Foster Friis was the money guy. And he sold 51 % of Friis' associates for $247 million back in 2001. And then he didn't know what to do with all this fucking money. So he went out looking for people that he could help to finance. He loved Jesus and he hated radical Islam.

So he's like, all right, well, that's a good start. I know what I like and I know what I don't like, right? So I'll find, he spent a ton of money supporting Rick Santorum, which was really like when he was running against Obama back in 2012. But once Santorum was bounced out, that money wound up flowing to Charlie Kirk. That was early 2012 when he was financing Santorum. That fizzled out and he's like,

Well, who's up next? they say, well, Bill Montgomery goes, well, you we've got this young kid who could help and he's great and he's young and he could debate and could do, and Turning Point USA is created, right? But, you know, like who finances a kid fresh out of high school? That's why it feels like an optomy. It'd be one thing if Charlie Kirk was like, I'm gonna start this organization on my own and I,

a loan from my parents and it's a buh buh buh buh and it turned into something right but when you're 18 years old and you get approached by not one but two 72 year old men who have big ideas on what they want you to do I get suspicious I'm not even saying I'm suspicious of Charlie Kirk I'm saying I'm suspicious of the guys that are around him because that is predatory behavior

Let's be honest, if you're 72 years old and you're out combing to find some kid who looks like he's the new guy, it's weird. There's a lot of information that needs to be kept in your brain as source material to pull from if you're gonna be in a debate against somebody. You can't just go off of talking points.
