You have been brought here for a purpose. The most important task of your lives going to write to me to make sure you. Welcome to the Static podcast. I'm your host, Anthony Tee, and this is episode 107. And we're back. Wednesday, March six, 2024. Thank you for joining me. Hope you are. Well, we have a couple of things to cover today. Obviously, yesterday was Super Tuesday and it seems that Trump is the Republican nominee. And a few hours ago, Nikki Haley dropped out. Now, personally, for me, going into this election season 20, 24, November, I am really not participating because I cannot move forward until actual people are held accountable for what happened during the pandemic. There's too many unanswered questions and people may say, well, you know, the government does stuff, there's wars. They don't hold people accountable. Well, when there's a foreign war, it affects the soldiers, the soldiers family. But for the rest of us, we really don't feel it. It just kind of goes like, look at the Ukraine war. Like, are there any probably any soldiers of ours or some kind of security forces there that, you know, it doesn't really affect you. 911 affected New York City for the rest of the country. Yes, they were sad, but it mostly affected New York. Now, the pandemic affected everyone in the whole world. And if people aren't brought to accountability over what they did and explain themselves well, then they're going to just do worse things in the future. And I don't think I'm alone in this mindset of what happened and people to put it simply, like people are looking for closures like they are the people's lives were affected. The is not the same. The country is in shambles. And you know, as much as you like Trump, you know, he did sign the bill that gave all these vaccine companies all this money. And it was just you know, he wasn't really a leader at that time. He turned it over to a force she felt she is, God knows where, walking around with his fat pension And CDC just just now reversed the rules that, oh, you don't have to isolate or whatever if you have COVID anymore. They took down all the restrictions now were pleasantly ripe before the next elections, conveniently. Now, the only guy that they've really kind of been going after, and I'm not a fan of his either, is Andrew Cuomo. And here's a clip from ABC News Tonight. Lawmakers in Washington, D.C. investigating how the nation responded to the COVID 19 pandemic. And now they've directed their attention toward a former New York governor. Seven News reporter Kristen Miranda explains. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo once again in hot water tonight. A congressional committee subpoenaed Cuomo in relation to his administration's handling of nursing homes, according to documents first obtained by ABC News. That House subcommittee is tasked with investigating how the country responded to the COVID 19 pandemic. The subcommittee is looking to question the former governor about one of the most controversial COVID era directives instructing nursing homes to admit recovering COVID positive patients from hospitals. He needs to answer questions as to how he came to that conclusion because he ultimately wrote a death warrant for so many seniors. In New York, Congressman Nick Langworthy telling me Tuesday Cuomo needs to be held accountable for his actions. Andrew Cuomo needs to be put in the hot seat. He needs to be asked the difficult questions as to why these decisions were made. Why did you put COVID positive patients into nursing homes? The subpoena and letter from the Republican led subcommittee is only the latest development for the former governor, who has faced intense scrutiny into how his administration handled nursing homes during the pandemic. In a statement from Cuomo's spokesperson to ABC News, it said the subpoena was an obvious pressure charade. I did reach out to the governor's office, but have yet to hear back. The subpoena requests that Cuomo testify at a deposition in Washington on May 24th. For seven News, I'm Christine Morand. So, yeah, they made this guy resign from New York state governor for some sexual harassment stuff. And now they want to subpoena him for this, which a lot of people have issues with what he did with the nursing homes. And I'm not holding my breath that they're going to do something like what are they going to do, throw him in jail? I doubt it. But we'll see what happens with it. Probably nothing. But somebody is there is a show going on, so we'll still keep it in New York for the next story is, well, a background for New York. Obviously, there is congestive pricing going, trying to go into effect for the MTA starting June, I believe an extra $15 toll if you go below 60th Street in Manhattan. So there is there's Midtown Tunnel, there's Lincoln Tunnel, there's Holland Tunnel, and all of these are not cheap tolls. And on the top of that, they want an extra $15 to subsidize the MTA because the ridership is low. Now, if you have been watching the news at all, you can see that private sectors, tech companies, retail companies, there's a lot of layoffs going down and that is how normal businesses work. If you are not making the profits you used to, you either shut down locations and unfortunately there are layoffs so you can cut your overhead and make profit, but not the government. The government doesn't act that way or any government agencies. They have low ridership due to the pandemic and work from home. And don't mention the crime. So what are they going to do? They're not going to cut service. They're not going to lay off people because obviously unions. So what are they going to do? They're going to try to impose a $15 tax on everyone else so they can operate the way they operate, even though the ridership is low. This is criminal. This is fraud. Now, one of the biggest people, this congested pricing tax, whatever you want to call it, affects are people from New Jersey and New Jersey brought on a lawsuit which may stop this. You never know what happens with politics behind closed doors, but there are lawsuits that may stop this. And the other thing. So what can they do actually, what can Hochul do to improve whatever besides laying off? Well, crime is pretty much the only thing they could tackle because they can't help the people that left the people that work from home. So it's crime. So here's a clip that Hochul had today about what she's going to do about crime in the subway. So today, in the wake of these latest attacks, I'm unveiling a five point plan to rid our subways of people, commit crimes and protect all New Yorkers. Whether you're a commuter or a transit worker. Point one, I'm redeploying nearly 1000 members of the New York State Police, MTA police and MTA National Guard to conduct bag checks in the city's busiest transit stations. You'll start seeing them at the tables, making sure that weapons are not being brought in. Working in concert with our New York State police as well as our NYPD, because no one heading to their job or to visit family or to go to a doctor appointment should worry that the person sitting next to them possesses a deadly weapon. All right. She is an idiot. First of all, there is no such thing as the MTA National Guard. I think she meant to say New York State National Guard. Now, all she's going to do now is inconvenience the riding public by having their bags searched because criminals. So you don't have a deadly weapon. But she never mentions her bail reform laws where if they she gets rid of those, you can arrest people. So they're not just going to inconvenience the riding public by stopping you. National Guard's going to walk work in conjunction with the NYPD to search everybody before they go into the into the subway. But if there's a bad guy that just beats the shit out of you on the platform, they won't arrest him. So he'll be there next week to beat the shit out of you again because, well, he doesn't have a deadly weapon or he just pushes you in front of a train. So that's going to stop it, right? Them searching your bag is going to stop that guy from beating the shit out of you because, well, they don't search him. He's just going to, you know, he's just going to choke you out from behind. And again, if you listen to that clip, it says the busiest hub. So she's talking Penn Station, Grand Central, which do crimes there really don't happen as much because there's just so many people and it's so busy. I'm not saying they don't. But like the the subway system is citywide. It's so large, these little little stations in these bad neighborhoods, things are still going to happen. They're not going to be searching every station. There's not. So it's this is just like a thing she's doing. So they get the congestive pricing because a lot of people are against this. It's not fixable, but it's not fixable. You're you your laws are the problem and you're not enforcing the laws are the problem. I just want people to see how ridiculous this concept is of if you have any other service that you use, for example, some delivery service, a popular big delivery service. Right. And you pay for the service. And if you are not getting the service or the service is subpar and the company turns around and says, you need to give us more money for better service, what are you going to do? You're going to tell them to go, Excuse me, Excuse the language, fuck off. You're not going to give them more money. Why would you give these people more money for horrible service? It's not going to get better. And on top of that, you're not even making the people that use the system pay the extra $15 you're making complete strangers that do not use the system, maybe pay an extra $15. Is that insane or is that insane? I'm going to send in the National Guard to search your bags so everybody is safe. How about if I don't want my bag searched? I'm a law abiding citizens. You cannot illegally search no illegal search and seizure. I want to go use a public service. You're going to search me? No, you're not going to search me. You're not allowed to profile people. You can't just pull anybody out separately and say, Hey, come here. I need to search your bag. So either you do it to everyone or you do it to no one, Right? Because that's the rules here in this lovely state of New York last year, they got that stupid robotic dog in the subway that was supposed to patrol to beat a new security for the subway. And they had to have two live cops watch that thing because it would have got stolen, kicked into the tracks, destroyed graffiti on city pay. You were paying two cops to stand there and guard the guard, the robotic guard dog. We are dealing with geniuses in this world, in the political system, geniuses. And here's one more genius that had to chime in on everything. That's what this election's really going to be about. And, you know, somebody the other day said to me, Zerlina, well, but, you know, Joe Biden's old I said, you know what, Joe Biden is old. Let's let's let's go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old. So we have a contest between one candidate who's old but who's done an effective job and doesn't threaten our democracy. And we and we have another candidate who is old, barely makes sense when he talks, is dangerous and threatens our democracy. Why does she keep putting her nose into everything? You're gone. You're nobody. You lost Hillary. Beat it. And what effective job is Joe Biden doing? Effectively destroying everything possible in this country? Is that effective? And it was like she was on a Zoom call that clip was from. And whoever is interviewing her is. Yeah, yeah. Great. Really? You don't say, hey, what? You don't you don't question her at all. Of course you can't question it because you'll never you'll know you'll get you get suicided and that'll do it for me today. I hope I showed you a few clips about this silliness that is going on and why I don't want to participate in the voting and in the politics, because these are the people here. They're not real. It's it's it's beyond beyond comprehension what they're doing and what they're saying. So anyway, I'm your host, Anthony Tee, thank you for joining me.
